Robert J. Matteoli is a life-long resident of Del Paso Manor, attended El Camino High School, and the University of California Davis where he received an engineering degree.  He is a Registered Civil Engineer, retired from the State Water Resource Control Board where he worked in planning, enforcement of water quality regulations, contract management, environmental regulations, projects proposal development and review, and as a water quality laboratory manager.  Robert also worked eight years on the Aerojet groundwater investigation.

He is currently representing Del Paso Manor Water District on the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) statewide Groundwater and Agriculture Committees.  Robert has also been appointed by the County Board of Supervisors to be on the Sacramento Groundwater Authority. He is a former Director of the Sacramento County Taxpayer’s Association.

He decided to run for the DPMWD Board because he was concerned about the Aerojet groundwater pollution plume and the movement of that plume.  He wants Del Paso Manor Water District to continue providing the best tasting water in the State at a reasonable rate.

Robert sees the District’s 2022 highest priority is to implement the District’s response to the Grand Jury findings.  He is looking forward to hearing from ratepayers at the upcoming Public Hearings as the District moves forward to replace its aging infrastructure and to remain independent.
