WHY SSWD MAY NEED TO ACCESS YOUR BACKYARD
Sacramento Suburban Water District (SSWD) is starting a Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program in the Del Paso Manor Service Area to improve the system’s reliability
Unlike most neighborhoods—where water mains and valves are in the street or front yards—many parts of the Del Paso Manor system were built with these features in backyards. That means SSWD may need to enter backyards to inspect and maintain the system using legal access rights called easements.
To keep you informed and reduce any inconvenience, SSWD will provide advance notice before work begins:
- Mailed Notices will go out one week before work begins with information about what’s happening and why.
- Door Hangers will be placed at homes where crews need to enter the backyard.
- On-site handouts will be available from SSWD field staff to answer questions and provide more details.
Uniformed SSWD crews will always follow proper procedures, give advance notice, and treat your property with care and respect. They will also carry proper identification and drive marked SSWD vehicles.
This PM Program is an important step toward improving the system’s reliability and reducing emergency repairs in the future. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact SSWD Customer Service at 916.972.7171.
