2018 Rate Study
Cost of Services Analysis for Rate Adjustments
Last year we issued a Prop 218 rate notification mailer for proposed rate increases. The rate proposal failed due to a majority opposition. With expenses exceeding revenues, we need to increase our rates to sustain our operations for your water supply and community fire protection.
This spring, we will issue another rate proposal through a Prop 218 notification. Without a rate increase, we will not have the revenue to pay for operations and maintenance expenses and our bond covenants going into 2019. We urge you to learn about the District, our challenges, potential solutions and, ultimately, make informed decisions based on the facts.
Our first community meeting was held February 22, 2018, where we heard about the District's costs, the need for an increase, and two rate alternatives.
The District will be having a second community meeting to review additional alternatives. Please join us to hear an update of the cost-of-service analysis and additional alternatives. We encourage you to ask questions and share your input..
